Meta, short for metatext or metatextual, refers to self-referential commentative text. Meta, when used across this encyclopedia, refers to articles, notes, or references across the encyclopedia with have to do with non-canon material.

Meta pages serve as repositories of non-canon information regarding the encyclopedia, including writing guidelines for pages, how pages like stubs work, and how information in the encyclopedia is allowed to be used. For anyone looking to help contribute to the encyclopedia it is highly recommended that the meta pages are read and appreciated that they are followed.

This page in particular is meant to serve as a starting place for those looking to explore how the encyclopedia works, what its meant for, how to use it, and how to help if you so wish!

Meta

This is a meta callout. These are uncommon throughout the encyclopedia but serve to provide non-canon information on some subjects.

Canon

Commonly when meta pages are referenced you will see canon mentioned. Canon is text that can be considered true within the setting, text that describes the setting with authoritative fact on the subject. In the case of this encyclopedia, canon refers to text written by characters within the setting. Non-canon text is text that is not part of the in-setting encyclopedia but nevertheless provides important information regarding the encyclopedia.

The Project

Mysenvar is a low-magic dark fantasy setting which can be explored through the Encyclopedia Mysenvaria. Everything in the encyclopedia is designed to be free for others to use as they wish. Whether you’re looking to run a TTRPG, need inspiration for your own story, or want a detailed world for your game, this project looks to provide a rich and expansive world for anyone’s purposes.

Disclaimer

It is important to recognize that the Encyclopedia Mysenvaria is a work of fiction. The world, characters, and events are a product of my own imagination. Any resemblance to real persons or events are purely coincidental.

This site aims to explore complex themes, but they are not intended to mirror the real-world. Descriptions found across the site are part of a fantasy setting designed for creative use in stories, games, and other personal projects. If you believe anything on the site is written or depicted in bad faith please reach out through Discord or GitHub.

Contribution

The Encyclopedia Mysenvaria, while my own creative work, welcomes contribution in all forms! All contributions are overseen by myself, to ensure they fit with the creative vision of the project.

Each page is fitted with a comment section powered by giscus, which uses GitHub discussions, this is the easiest way to contribute. Alternatively, join the Discord and help brainstorm there! The discord is also friendly for those looking to build their own settings!

If you’re very interested and would like to see me devote more time to expanding the encyclopedia you can even donate to my Ko-fi!
