Proto-Human is the reconstructed common ancestor of all Human languages. There is no written record of Proto-Human; all of its features are proposed based off of inherited features in all Human languages through the process of the comparative method and internal reconstruction, among other methods.

Proto-Human is believed to have been spoken between __ and __ during the beginnings of humanity. Evidence from certain irregular forms that controversially points to Proto-Human predating humanity by approximately - years; however, what predates Proto-Human beyond this point is generally uncertain, with many proposing God Tongue as an ancestor.

As speakers of Proto-Human became gradually isolated from eachother, the regional dialects of Proto-Human diverged, as each dialect went through a series of systematic changes in pronunciation, morphology, and vocabulary. Over time these dialects began to form mutual unintelligible languages within the Proto-Human language family.
